See... here is the thing... When you are a chicken breeder, you have a responsibility to keep the lines clean. When you randomly breed mutt chickens you do a disservice to the chicken world... HE HEHEHEHE.
You know, some guy actually said that crap. LOL. I am not sure what the heck some of my birds are mutted with. Now I have the ulitmate mutts in my yard. Yup. I think I may need to go and take pictures of the new mutts.
Speaking of mutts, I had to rescue one to the 3 day olds today. It fell out of the coop door. Skatter has them sitting right by the ramp up. She hasn't brought them down yet, but they are by the ramp.... Anyway, there is nothing like a well rounded woman crawling under a coop to fetch a chick that is running in terror of the big monster. Skatter is in the coop squawking away, not helping matters none, the stupid cow. So the silly chick goes through the dang wire, but is stopped short by the glass that I have there. SO, I get my fingers from one hand through the wire as well, get a hold of it, and then get it back through with out hurting it. I am amazing thank you very much. Back my big patooty back out from under the run, knees covered in the nights fresh chicken droppings... I swear, who would have thought 20 birds could crap so much... And go to give the chick back to Skatter and the rotten chit attacks me like it was my fault her chick was out of the darn coop to begin with.
Man she'd just lucky those chicks are the cutest ones ever! Not kidding. I think these chick that just hatched are the cutest ones to have hatched here. Yup.
I installed a hamster water bottle in addition to the bowl, so that don't happen again! It was fun teaching them to use the hamster bottle. After they caught on they liked it better!
