Sugar issues are a bear to follow. Takes diligence to be sure. I am in trouble as well. I'm overweight, and have hypertension....wow, what a downer I am today! Sorry!

i think i was just grumpy about it bc she promised we would try one more oral medication first but then jumped to insulin .. that and i hate shots !!!

I have to take it once a day at bedtime .. but losing all this weight will limit the amount of meds i have to take and possibly reverse the condition ... im looking to take off 80-90 lbs ..

The concert last night was AWESOME!!! It was very 20s swing. SWEET! The main guy was ridiculously tall! Like, 7+ feet. Then he went off stage and crept up right behind me and my mom, it scared the bejeebers out of both of us! Then started yelling at the band from behind us, telling them to learn to play an instrument and such. He was hilarious.

Mom2... I am an alarmist... BUT, when I had my TIA 3 years ago that is exactly how is started. Felt like someone stabbed a knife into my eye and through the socket. I had lightening in that eye for several hours afterwards, got a bit confuddled, and I was delivering papers at the time in the middle of bfe. Then the most god-awful headache as well. I got home and my dad took me to the ER and after head scans and fun such, they said they were pretty certain that I had a TIA and to be sure they'd need to do a spinal. Strokes run in my family.... My dad his first in his mid 20's. I refused the spinal and try to avoid getting really ticked off and over stressed. Try being the operative word there.

BUT ANYWAY! If you can, get checked. Its good to know what happened. Could have very easily been a migraine.... BUT best to be sure.

Migraine symptoms are not always confined to the head. Sometimes there are other parts of the body that are affected by migraines. As changes occur in the brain, different sensations may be felt throughout the body. A common complaint is a feeling of numbness, tingling or weakness in a small or large area of the body. These symptoms are sometimes associated with sensory aura.
Migraine sufferers may experience:
  • Numb fingers
  • Numb face
  • Arm numbness
  • Head numbness
  • Numbness in the lips, tongue or legs
  • Weakness in limbs
  • Numbness on one side of the body
These sensations of numbness, sometimes called sensory aura, can occur before, during or after the migraine pain begins. Most often the sensations occur on the same side of the body as the pain in the head.
Occasionally, the numbness is so severe the migraine sufferer feels they can't move that part of the body. This weakness or feeling of paralysis is temporary. The weak or tingling skin sensation may be in only one specific part of the body, such as feeling weak or numb in only one finger, part of a finger or a small portion of the face.
