I keep jumping around. LOL.

I'd hate to not have chickens now that I have them. So, I can see keeping low on the radar. You could just do like Silver does... Bring em inside... Build an aviary indoors. I want to actually... BUT mom would freak out over it. I am thinking Thin plexi front, canvas top... pull out clean tray... Oh... my mind needs to stop thinking. LOL. OR I get rid of the cats and dogs and John... hehehehe

I was listening to AM radio and there was a guy on saying that a lot of headaches are caused from chronic dehydration, and that drinking cool-aid, coffee, soda and tea's do not count as a hydration source.

What about decaf herbal tea? It's just an infusion, still has water? I drink a lot of that.

I will be bringing him in the house tomorrow. I will make sure his crop gets nice and full and I will give him his vitamins along with some garlic to see if that helps any.

Should I try antibiotics? I have not given him any antibiotics because this was quickly brought on by another rooster beating him up.
I was not home at the time this happened and they were fine together... until they weren't.
The other rooster is long gone.

I just feel so awful and want him to be better.

Slipped disk? Feel along his neck and see if you can feel a bulge. If it happened while fighting, it is probably a physical issue, not a vitamin. Idk if anything other than surgery could fix that

Well, so far today looks to be a right nice day. At the moment that is. More rain is supposed to come in. Ugh... I am hauling booty getting as much clothes washed and on the line to dry before that rain happens. 3 days worth is in the forecast.

We were watching AFV last night and a kid had a white silkie on his head. The chicken crapped on the kid. LOL. Priceless. Jace was all excited because it was a silkie.

Speaking of chickens, since this is a chicken forum... There is a lady at Meijer who makes winter hats in animals... I asked her if she can do a chicken. She's going to give it a shot, so, I hope cuz Jace would LOVE it. That chicken he got at chicken stock, That poor toy.... He finally named it Mrs. Hen. Yup. Sleeps with it, dresses it up in army toys and plays with it, bungee cords it to his tonkas... He even took it to school last week and no one made fun of him, though I was worried.

Well any who... Where is everyone?

Seems we have a fox issue now. Well, I don't, but the neighbor does. They thought it was a hawk taking the birds, but he just caught a fox in the act of trying. They've lost 3 including their little D'uccle cross.

It took the landlord of the house next door exactly ONE day to discover my chickens today. He is there doing repairs and was out in the backyard next door- and said to me, "What kind of chickens do you have back there?"

My daughter had a seizure at five am this morning, but I have kept her so drugged today, all she has done is slept. I I took her to my moms house for her to watch her while I worked. She is sleeping now.

I have FIVE quail. pbbbllltttt. I told the others I expect them to hatch. jerk eggs.

sigh. i don't even have words of wisdom here.

Do you have a room you could use to put a decent sized aviary in? I may be in the same predicament soon too. Hanging in as long as i can, but things ain't easy over here either. I hope your DD is better soon, i can't even imagine what it's like for either of you.

different home. I worked in cedar springs, this one is in lamont.
"D" DH is gone a-hunting. Thank goodness. So i have the computer for a minute. Things keep going the way they have the last couple months i may have to find a roomie and live in a trailer park with a secret room of chickens.

NO, he sold off all of the silkies. His wife didn't want the hassle of another coop to deal with in the winter, or having to train them to go up a ramp so she'd be able to take care of them. I considered taking him, but I have to many already with the chicks constantly going... I did finally get Sheh Sheh to give it up.

no room for an aviary. I dont even have room to have my son back home- he is staying in the garage.
I just have to go incognito....stealth bitty chickens. Little poodle chickens and african ground parrots. Nobody can look at Chicken Little (or Bird for that matter) and call her a chicken. More like doves.
