Fuzzy's Farm

This i did not know. Color is relaxing for me, usually i dress for my moods. I thought it was normal until a friend pointed out and named all my moods by t-shirt color! I had no idea color was a trigger also! I like collecting paint chip pamphlets. Sounds weird, but if i am stressed out it helps sometimes to look at all the soothing colors and mentally put together possible combos. Don't matter for what, it's the process that is soothing! Why is yellow bad, why does it make you eat, and why do you have it in your avie??? A fickle sense of humor?
Have you ever noticed the colors in fast food joints? After eating in one, are you in a happy mood? Um, no not really, because you ate too much... Yellow...

Color psychology...
The Color Psychology of Yellow

  • Yellow is a bright that is often described as cheery and warm.
  • Yellow is also the most fatiguing to the eye due to the high amount of light that is reflected. Using yellow as a background on paper or computer monitors can lead to eyestrain or vision loss in extreme cases.
  • Yellow can also create feelings of frustration and anger. While it is considered a cheerful color, people are more likely to lose their tempers in yellow rooms and babies tend to cry more in yellow rooms.
  • Yellow can also increase the metabolism.
  • Since yellow is the most visible color, it is also the most attention-getting color. Yellow can be used in small amount to draw notice, such as on traffic sign or advertisements.

The Color Psychology of Blue

  • Blue is described as a favorite color by many people and is the color most preferred by men.
  • Blue calls to mind feelings of calmness or serenity. It is often described as peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly.
  • Blue can also create feelings of sadness or aloofness.
  • Blue is often used to decorate offices because research has shown that people are more productive in blue rooms.
  • Blue is one of the most popular colors, but it is one of the least appetizing. Some weight loss plans even recommend eating your food off of a blue plate. Blue rarely occurs naturally in food aside from blueberries and some plums. Also, humans are geared to avoid foods that are poisonous and blue coloring in food is often a sign of spoilage or poison.
  • Blue can also lower the pulse rate and body temperature.
  • Consider how blue is used in language: blue moon, blue Monday, blue blood, the blues, and blue ribbon.

The Color Psychology of Green

  • Green is a cool color that symbolizes nature and the natural world.
  • Green also represents tranquility, good luck, health, and jealousy.
  • Researchers have also found that green can improve reading ability. Some students may find that laying a transparent sheet of green paper over reading material increases reading speed and comprehension.
  • Green has long been a symbol of fertility and was once the preferred color choice for wedding gowns in the 15th-century. Even today, green M & M's (an American chocolate candy) are said to send a sexual message.
  • Green is often used in decorating for its calming effect. For example, guests waiting to appear on television programs often wait in a “green room” to relax.
  • Green is thought to relieve stress and help heal. Those who have a green work environment experience fewer stomachaches.
  • Consider how green is used in language: green thumb, green with envy, greenhorn.

Anyway... there is more things obviously, but color can very much affect moods...

Silver... If there is one thing I know, and you probably too, is that food is a BIG trigger on bipo kids. It was for my dad too. One thing he was able to discover that really helped, and helped me too was what we were consuming and exercise. Exercise puts out happy happy endorphins. More natural foods also. Color can also be a trigger. Colors in the house with pink undertones instead of blue. Not saying paint a room pink, but want warm undertones. They do create for a happier state. Yellow... NOT a good color for bipo people. It is not a sunny color though it is yellow. Not a happy color, it is an eat eat eat angry color.

Try to avoid foods with MSGs, artificial or modified sweeteners, red meats in excess... Supplement his daily vitamin with St. Johns wart and Ginkgo. Ginkgo is not just for old people's brains. A leisure walk around the yard, down the street with happy music... A bike ride maybe.

I am a big girl, I like to eat, but I notice that when I eat fast food to much, or if I eat too many carbs in the form of noodles, cereals and breads, I have worse days. When I stick to fruits and veggies from frozen or fresh, not canned, I feel better emotionally too. Valerian tea is very relaxing. I add honey too it since I like a little sweet. Valerian has sedative/soothing properties...

Puberty for boys is just as stressful as it is for girls... They need their space, and they need your patience just as much. A diary... well, for a boy it is not a diary... is just as much a help for some kids as is seeing a councilor. Sometimes a councilor is more damaging, because they ask the "tell me about your mother" and next thing you know, it is your fault for something you had no idea of, unless you find a councilor who is very highly rated...

I'd avoid medications as long as possible. Some kids will need it, some kids can be handled with diet and exercise... Not saying that this is the only way to go, I understand that some kids need more than this. But some kids can benefit from an elimination diet/paleo diet for several weeks, then slowly adding in foods and see what happens to the mental state. If you have to do the med route, be sure to study the side effects very closely so you know what to expect with these meds. My mom is on depakote... Since taking it, she is a completely different person... More confuse, less confident, lacking common sense...

Anyway... I will get off my soap box now... BUT, I have lots more info/suggestions...
feel free to suggest away .... he does keep a journal ... we rarely eat red meet ... matter of fact beef is a rare item in the house we eat a lot of chicken and turkey (shhh dont tell my babies i said that lol )
I know about the medication route .... we went this way once before and dr basically forced me to give him ADD meds ... do you know what that does to a bipolar kid ? let me tell you what it does ..speeds them up and brings out anger they cannot control ... and no child of mine will touch depakote ... bad family history with it ... me personally it causes hallucinations and voices .. uh uh we aint going there ....

One of the main reason I am so worried is he did not remember why i took his mp3 player ( i didnt take it he gave it to me ) and did not understand why i wont give it back .. he told me it was a crappy present and he didnt want it so i told him fine give it to me its mine ill keep it ... that really worries me ...

Oh, i think i have 2 boys and 4 girls. Hugsy turned out to be black and white barred, and though i thought a boy there is no chest bumping and red comb? The possible cucoo and the possible silver dilute are both boys for SURE. I may have to keep the possible dilute, i have asked all over BYC and no one will answer me at all about what color he may be if not that................

http://www.edelras.nl/chickengenetics/mutations1.html If you scroll down there is even a chick on here that looks like mine!

Bottom of page one, on dilluters of gold. Notice the citron roo's resemblence to my roo
(not likely, but the closest pic i have seen to my roos color!) He grew up to have very gold hackles and saddle, a light golden sheen on the "white" that i always assumed was the sun. See the lightness of the peach/buff on the chick? The rest is white and blue! Very pretty.

beautiful babies !!!

Clucky!

They have the AWESOMEST ( like that is not a word) mural all the way around the gym. It is an African outback. So cool. Elephants, rhinos, hippos, lions, gazelles, zebra, flamigos... Well, you get the picture. Some one even put black jags in, and I was thinking, do they have those there? No, I think that is S. America... Oh well. LOL
Cute lil stinkers you have!
South America has black jaguars
Asia and Africa have black leopards
Asia could have black tigers
North America could have black jaguars or black cougars!!!
(I had to look it up... you learn something new everyday!)

I loved picking out paint for our house... I would come home with handfuls (okay not that many...) and post my favorites on the walls!! I left them up for weeks! I had to see which one caught my eye when I walked in the room and which ones were too dark at night...
It is soothing. That is a good idea to make a book with them...hole punch the corners and put a ring through... Hmmm.

Has he ever been tested for Addisons Disease? A neighbor boy had it and would forget little things. Then one morning he had no clue who his mom was. He wasn't diagnosed until he was a teen.
