Fuzzy's Farm

lol. berries.

Yes, mine will sneak over to whatever tree berries we have too. They are so small they just keep eating them, lol. I have been steering them away from that section of woods...................Then there was the red hummingbird sugar powder fiasco....................Oy.

When i was treating them with the meds recently i was also giving mine cranberries! They were the sugared dried ones in the baggie, the human kind, but i wonder if they would eat the raw ones? Mine loved the candied ones, not as good but some anti-bacterial qualities still perhaps...............i think it was the running out of the goodies that inspired the naughtiness, lol. I tried to give each bird only a few, it was hard because after the first couple times they ended up liking them tremendously, the losing finger kind of like!

(x 2) silly birds :)

Oh my gosh! We just had some visitors: 40 wild turkeys. They were just hangin out in the orchard, trying to figure out what the chickens were doing. It was funny, the old girls that were around when we had our own turkeys were just wandering around them like it was completely normal. And all the younger girls were having a panic attack. The turkeys were just very confused. They ran away with a couple apples. :p

I think I am going to wait till spring for more. I need to hire a half a dozen STRONG guys to help me move a swing set from one part of the yard to the other. I want it out of the spot it is in, moved over about 30 feet to the other side of the dogs area, then bring the fence over from that spot...

I was so tired last night, I didn't even hang out like I normally do reading through the half dozen threads that I read religiously, some I haven't even posted on, but I am subscribed just because they do nothing but TALK CHICKEN. I hope to gleen something. Doesn't mean I do, but since I do not have our trusty ring leader to answer my questions... when I have them... I have to look at other sources. Oh, how it wastes precious time that could be spent otherwise BSing. HAHA. I am glad that Olive might come back after the holidays.

It looked to be a sunny day this morning when I finally realized that constant bell ringing was my alarm... 20 minutes after it had started to go off. I guess it has been too long since I have done anything physical out of the norm. Well anyway, I took Jace to school, went to Meijer to get new toothpaste since Aiden decided that my toothpaste was better served in the toilet, and the sun was out. I came out of Meijer, the sun was gone. I need to get the laundry finished and the laundry room cleaned out cuz a friend of mine if going to sell me his old washer and dryer for $40 since he is getting brand new set. He said they were old, but they still worked good, and I said, for $40 bucks if it lasts me a year, I will be very happy, happy, happy. SO, who ever forgot to pay the sun bill, could you please rectify the situation?

My SLW is still hanging on. She's not looking to be getting worse, I can't tell if she's getting better, but she's still very alert. She prefers to lay on the garage floor versus the brooder with pine shavings. She will go over there when she gets chilly though. So, I am taking this as a good sign. I have not seen any more yolk stuck to her bottom, and her belly doesn't feel as swollen, so I am hoping the antibiotics are working. I am hoping she'll not start laying again. She is such a beautiful bird. I don't really care if she is just a lawn ornament. She's a grouch, so she keeps the youngsters in line.

Well, guess I will use this morning to clean the carpet...

MsB, the hens come through the yard, wander around the coops and look for left over treats. I haven't had any actually wander into the chickens run yet, but they don't seem to bothered by the chickens. The chickens just ignore them.

Aaaaahhhhhh!!! The chickens are going to melt in the rain!!! They keep running in and out of the covered run. When I looked a few minutes ago, I don't even think everyone came out of the coop yet... or they went back in

The SGs have been much better with the flock since I took Nugget out. They still try to "get" my largest pullet Noodle. She wants NOTHING to do with them
