I just picked up some foot warmers. I am hoping my winter coat will be dry by the time I need it tonight! UGH! It's been hanging for hours with a fan on it, on the shower rod, right under the heater!

I saw this awesome snow suit... that darn thing cost near 300 bucks. It says its like wearing an ice fishing hut... You have got to be kidding me! 3! HUNDRED! DOLLARS! Yike. Half a house payment! Pay someone to rig my blower motor to medium...

We are sleeping outside tonight. Our dad bought some really great sleeping bags, and we already tried em out last night. They were great! That's why we're sleepin' outside again!

later, guys. gotta go get the chicken chores done, brrr. Not used to this cold yet!

The boys will want to run around though, the girls are not having it, lol. The chicks have a heat lamp, and it is giving off a bit of heat to the camper. Now that the big girls have figured it out, they're not budging!

A Creepy Late-Halloween Story

I just have to add this story from last night. We were sleeping outside last night. It was late. Approximately midnight, to be exact. And I hear an all-to-familiar sound that I would normally hear in the daytime. It was the unmistakable sound of a rooster's crow! And it sounded exactly like the recently deceased Hooter's crow. I get goosebumps even writing about this. The rooster (or whatever he was) crowed several times more. At first, I was really thinking I was hearing a ghost rooster's crow, but I didn't believe in ghosts. I muttered that to myself a couple of times, and continued to hear the rooster's crow. Finally, using a lot of courage, I got up out of my sleeping bag and looked around. And I saw the neighbor's rooster standing in the yard, crowing his heart out. Funny that every time he crowed, he did so with his beak pointed to the moon. A little while later, he went back inside the chicken coop and the crowing was ended. But I still get goosebumps, since the first few crows sounded too much like Hooter, whom died in June of 2012. I don't know, though...

I had the heat lamp on in the garage for the SLW... Now I just have it on, and at any time of day, you will find girls in there just chilling for a while, warming up before they head back out to the big chilly yard. LOL.

A rooster crowing in the middle of the night would have me wondering what the heck was in the coop!
I was wondering if there was something in the coop, but I watched it for a full 30 minutes and nothing ever came out and I never heard a distressed chicken. I still don't know what to think...
