Fuzzy's Farm

2 years. But our fence is very good, woven noclimb and weaves back and forth between pretty heavy duty posts. I figured it was better to spend money on a really good fence and gate in order to solve problems before they develop. Plus we have tons of toys in their pen so they would rather hang out on top of the little tykes play house. Yeah, they are spoiled.

OK, for the mom-itis cure............on the EE thread they posted 2 links for the hen actually being the culprit to being a rooster breeder.........

yes, i had to add my 2 cents worth of info. I really do read too much, lol.

" A hen is born with a number of eggs she can produce. They don't make more cells for the eggs; From what i've read a father contributes to the number of cells she is born with. :) Henceforth how good a layer she will be.

So if mother makes gender, and father determines how good a layer she will be, what i got from this is to put your best layer's dad with your best pullet making hen; best of both worlds! :)"

Cool, Fuzzy!

Well I have never had good luck keeping a goat in. Even with chain link they would get out. Much rather have my sheep. They only get out when I open the gate and let them out.
