In celebration of my 1000th post and in appreciation of the fun and fellowship and support of our poultry and veggie farm, hubby and I are sponsoring a contest.

2. Or write down how another BYC member has helped you.

3. Or Write what you would like to do to help BYC in the future.

This is really all about Kindness because all of you have been so VERY Kind to us.

I don't really need any eggs but wanted to say that is a very kind and generous thing you are doing! Good luck to everyone!

I have done nothing - yet, no real oppertunity. I have to say I have been really impressed with the generocity of folks on this forum. I see some kind of giveaway pretty much at least once a day. I plan on doing a mixed batch of Pure brahma and brahma cross eggs when I get some awesome number of posts, my first hatch, or something I can celebrate - fun! I'm a firm believer in passing on good fortune. Heck in a week or so if I still have nothing to celebrate maybe I will just "pay it forward". I know there are always those who have lost members of their flock, their kids want to see a hatch, or assorted other things going on and the hatcheries seem to be on backorder this year. Eggs are exciting and who knows what will happen with them. This forum is proof that there are still decent, generous, and kind people in the world. All the eggs swaps ( along with other kids of swaps I have seen on here ), egg chains, and everything else are proof. I know people sometimes get burnt but for the most part I don't hear the bitterness and resentment going on here. What we have here on this forum is rare these days - I like to think it's because everyone here is "chicken people' - kind of kindred spirits if you will. Best of luck to everyone with THIS free egg contest. I have to say I feel lucky to be here amongst you all - participating in my little way. I think you will have a more difficult time deciding on the winner of this contest Bargain - there are SO many good people here!

If I would get any eggs, I would have to get them after August 19, when I will be coming home from my son's wedding.

I think this is a very nice thing you are doing.

I have done nice things, but I truly would feel very funny talking about it openly!

Nonetheless, I do intend to get eggs from you one of these days!

bargain asked me to enter So I am going to try. It feels funny to tell people what you did. First of all I would like to nominate pdsavage if that is O.K. She is very kind. She has given me a lot of eggs. She came over and showed me how to post Pictures. She even gave me a Speckled Sussex hen.

As for myself. I bought a golden feather membership for pdsavage. I also gave away free eggs one time.

Thank you so much for being KIND and giving these away.

edited to say If I win I will give some of their offspring away.

Ok....guess I am going to enter on behalf of someone who has been extremely kind TO ME. Speckledhen (aka Cyn) has become my adopted "chicken mentor". She ALWAYS has time to respond to my sometimes all to newbie related questions....questions I'm sure she has answered a million times. I currently have 2 Delawares from her and 2 baby chicks from her BBS orp program. Totally unknown to her, she was the FIRST to respond to my oldest sons first ever post of BYC. I always ask her before I do anything.....thanks Cyn.

I have been on the recieving end of great kindness from two very special BYC'ers..bargain and lockedhearts. Without these two very special chicken ladies my flock would not be where they are today. Bargain has to this date hatched all of my beautiful little chickies when I have been on the receiving end of egg raffles and when I purchased my Ameracauna eggs without her great kindness I would not have these gorgeous little babies. Without the great kindness of Lockedhearts I wouldn't have my beloved bantam cochin babies especially my little frizzle girl. She came to my rescue when I wanted to purchase a frizzle girl but they only came in cockerel/pullet pairs and my dh would not let me have another cockerel so she went in half with me and she took the little cockerel home, I could never say thank you enough for this kind gesture she has also been ever so kind in supplying eggs for our neverending habit. These are the ways of kindness that I have received from to great BYC'ers.

Thank you two so much,
Autumn

Well, if we can nominate someone else, I would like to nominate BeccaOh.

Last Tuesday my husband had back surgery. Not only did Becca call up to the hospital to check on us, but she brought dinner to us once we were home. She also plans to come over later this week to help me with mowing my 2 acre yard and building some new pens I need for my poultry.

She brought a huge pile of books over for my husband to borrow so he could have some reading materials since he is allowed to do NOTHING for the next 3 months.

Another time, this has been a couple months ago, I was low on feed and didn't know when I would make it to the feedstore because of everything we had going on. Becca brought me feed to hold me over until I could get to the feedstore myself.

She's a wonderful BYC'er and friend.

I don't think there is anything I have done for any other BYC'er's that would be worthy of free eggs, so I hope you'll consider Becca instead.

eta: I met Becca through BYC last fall when she was looking for a couple hens and I sold her a Buff Orpington and Speckled Sussex hen.
