Gagging? Mushy crop.

Another day, another problem! We noticed one of our 8 juvenile layers “gagging” tonight. She did it about 6 times then went about her way pecking the yard. Gagging video here
Yesterday we had a sudden drop from 8 eggs to only 5. Today we got 7 but there was a strange fluid where the eggs had been laid (they have 4 boxes- they all choose the same one). Connected symptom? I’ve dealt with sour crop once and we lost her. Hoping she is just adjusting her crop. Will see if it’s flat in the morning after 12 hours no food no water. Insight welcome!!!

Looks like crop adjustment but do check her crop in the a.m. before she eats/drinks, if it's not empty, then begin treatment according to the article below.

She was empty!! Thank goodness. We were worried. Our last loss happened so quick from sour crop. Yes we provide grit! They don’t seem to eat it much but it’s offered. Do you have any insight on the fluid that was on the eggs?
