I'm a bit confused, I got an egg today!
I didn't know geese lay this early with no supplemental light, and there are no outwards signs that it is breeding season for them. They are just as cautious (but not flighty) around me as ever and Dad says they are meaner to the chickens and ducks than usual but personally I haven't noticed that.
As much as I'd like friendly geese, I'd rather have cautious geese than mean ganders. I just... doubt the egg is fertile. They don't have that kind of drive.
Maybe that's okay though, a lot of people don't breed from young birds anyway. How long do you wait before breeding from your pairs?

Mine had goslings their first year. Those are the ones pictured. They are bullies to the chickens regardless of what time of year. The gander competition has been going on for I want to say 2 months now?

I expect eggs anytime. Originally I got eggs starting late February, and I didn't let them sit until March so they hatched in June. I think I got eggs much earlier last year.

Laying season is somewhere between spring and infinity. Most of my girls start laying somewhere in early spring but some start before and some have laid in late fall. Geese are an enigma.

I've gotten eggs out of my geese every month of the year. Not all from the same geese, mind you, and they're still relatively young, so I'm thinking maybe they'll be like my muscovies and settle into more of a groove as they age. I did allow my geese to hatch some goslings their first season, but the second season eggs were all noticeably larger and the goslings thar hatched the second season were much more robust in their first few days. I don't think I'll ever hatch first year eggs again based on that alone.

Everyone’s hustling around keeping their women away from everyone else and I’ve already broken up two fights today. The madness begins……
It's still subtle here. Every now and then there's a scuffle between a couple of the boys and everyone is side eyeing eachother suspiciously whenever a couple is caught sharing a pool, but it's still the calm before the storm so far.
