View of the feathered family from earlier today as we were waiting for the eclipse to start. Is anyone else as amazed by gosling growth rates as I am? I feel like I always forget how fast they grow.

My boys often seem more interested in parenting than the females do. Anyone else notice that in their flocks?

I can attest to this. The first brood were so sheltered compared to their parents I raised. My gander would swoop down like super man the instant a little one would start crying for no apparent reason and shelter it.

My ganders just love babies too.

The ganders are such good dads! It's always funny watching them, the geese try and let their babies explore independently and the ganders just want to keep a constant vigil over everyone.

The difference between a few days old and four weeks old. It can be lost on you until you see side by side comparisons. It never ceases to amaze me.

I keep trying to remember if my other poultry species have such an incredible growth rate, and I don't thing they do. Geese are really something else.
