Now somebody hold me down until April 15!

My friend and I are doing a heritage breed experiment with the straight run cockerels (and some hens) going to the dinner table. My order is:

11 Speckled Sussex
6 Buff Orps
5 Dominiques
3 GLW (sexed pullets)

The GLWs are for me, but I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be able to resist the Sussex. They're awful pretty.

2 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes.


Since there was a limit of 25 minimum to order i'm gonna have to sell cause im building a pen for 16.
For sure im keeping the blue laced reds then the other colors. Im getting then March 1st! I need to be held down to!

I want to try to get one some time, but I want to get it from a breeder so I can be sure of the egg color

I had a couple I wanted that weren't going to be available until May! I was so bummed! mypetchicken has a rare marans collection and Buttercups but they said both are so new and their laying isn't really regular yet.

I did order 2 each of speckled Sussex, Jersey Giants, salmon Faverolles, and buff Chanteclers.

I supposed I could have waited but I really wanted my chickies soon and the order was with 3 other people too! April 12th is our hatch day...

It seems like so far away!
