GAH! The post office lost my expensive silkies!

I am so sorry that you lost your baby!

Stories like these are all too common and I agree that they might become more common as hours and jobs are cut. I also think that these shipping companies need to rethink their goal to be all things to all people. If the USPS's main objective is to get us our letters & junk mail, perhaps they should decline these shipments and leave then to the 24/7 priority type shippers.

The lack of letters and junk mail is precisely the problem. More and more people and companies are relying on the internet for correspondence and advertising. USPS package shipping has actually increased. All things considered they are cheaper, faster, more reliable, and convenient than UPS. There just is not enough FedX outlets for live deliveries, I actually prefer them to UPS, they will actually call you instead of just honking and driving off.

As much as most would hate to hear it they probably need to raise their rates more than just to adjust for inflation. I believe we will see the loss of one day of delivery. Saturday would just make sense as most business is closed that day. I think most of us could adjust our shipping schedules to accommodate.

Oh, I am just reading this thread now. How awful this has been for you and the babies, but I am glad that they did finally arrive. So sorry about the loss of the little splash, I am confident you did everything you could have done.

USPS. They are a dismal failure here in my area, along with UPS and DHL. But, I really think it depends on the area you live. Being out in the county somewhat, I have had all these carriers leave packages on the road, delivering to wrong house or losing altogether. It is particularily frustrating dealing with USPS where we keep a PO box and on a daily basis I get other people's mail in my PO box. UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. They are the most incompetent here in my area of all the carriers.

If we can't get FED EX to deliver whatever we need, we just don't buy it. Fed Ex works, even overnight here in our area.

Would love to see pictures of your little ones.

Anne

I'm the one that she shipped the eggs to. I am happy to say that they arrived today and all 12 are perfect! Not even a crack. Maybe the extra days in the post didn't affect them too much. I will be starting them in the incubator as soon as they settle a while.
