GAH! The post office lost my expensive silkies!

THEY MADE IT HOME!

They got to the post office at 1:30, and one of the post men took lunch break and brought them straight to me in his car.

Oh, I'm SO glad! Please keep us posted on their progress, especially the poor splash!

I can't take any pictures this morning I have to go somewhere for a few hours.

The splash is slipping farther and farther away.

He won't eat or drink anymore. He is sitting in a little fluffed up ball with his eyes closed and won't opened them. It won't be long. Poor little guy. I loved him so much. The splashes are my favorite and now I will only have one. Poor little thing. I wish there is something I could do, besides sit here and watch him die. But at least I know it won't be much longer.

Stupid postal people.

I KNOW that if I worked for them and I saw a live animal, I would personally escort it to exactly where it's suppose to be. Instead my silkies got put on the wrong truck and now my little baby has to pay for it.

The PO people that work in my town are very nice, but the people who work in the shipping trucks and sorting must not give a care.

Yes! I know mistakes happen, but one would think that living things would be handled with the utmost care and consideration.

Maybe they should be put in special, easily-recognized, orange or red boxes and all employees of USPS instructed to give them "utmost care and consideration".

Look to see if the toes are curled into balls, if they are it is too late probably. But if not take a syringe and give it chicken broth with a raw egg blended in, use a syringe. Be careful not to get the mixture in the lungs, just a little at a time but keep at it.

Oh poo! I was so glad to see they made it to you but so sad to see you may be losing one. Did you try an eye dropper with vitamins in it? I had one that was on it's last leg and I just kept forcing vitamin water down her and she came around and is doing fine to this day.
I sure hope it makes it! Keeping fingers crossed for you.

I am so happy they all made it to you. I really hope the little Splash makes it for you. Please keep us posted on his/her health.

An update. The little Splash died yesterday despite my tries to save him. It was strange cause 'he' was eating and drinking fine. Then he just stopped, and refused anymore and just slowly faded away.

Poor little thing.

The others are all doing great. But his only little splash buddy misses him.

I also learned that the eggs I shipped out the other day to a BYC'er are two days late as well. I just can't even desribe how angry I am at them right now.

lol I think that already in affect. With the bright orange, pointy boxes that say LIVE BIRDS in huge letters on the side about 6 times.

The USPS has cut 25,000 jobs this year, they are suffering like everybody else. While this is no comfort for the loss of your silkie, we can expect more mistakes. They probably need to raise rates a little more to get the standard up, but legally I think they can only raise the rates to match inflation. Our local post offices ;Oliva, and Sanford, NC cut a hour off of the operating hours. I think down the line they will cut to 5 days a week, just which day they will cut is questionable. I think they should cut Saturday but our local PO has said it probably will be Wednesday.

I am very sorry for the loss of your splash
