Do you think its a beetle or "any other insect?

I was thinking that it was related or "in the beetle family" or maybe related to stink bugs, because we have a few in the house. But I am totally stumped and have looked at a ton of internet sites about bugs and found nothing. Weird. But then again I dont know much about bugs.

I checked out all of the stink bug species, and they aren't shaped like the one in the picture. I'll go through some other beetle species though, I'm pretty sure its a beetle.

I think its a carpet beetle of some sort.

Go to www.bugguide.net and see if you can find it there. It looks kinda like an Acanthocephala Femorata. I hope you find out what it is!! Good luck!

It is a Box Elder bug. They love to warm themselves on the brick of my house.
Such a pest-but harmless!

I actually just posted a picture on that site!! I will let everyone know if I get an answer. The legs on the bug you posted are very different...

You should be able to take it to the county ag extension or similar place and have it identified. My county has an entamologist that comes a few times a week to identify insects found in the county.
