Gaining confidence

I have just rescued three ex battery hens they are very chilled wandering around the garden, but how do I get them to be comfortable around me and hopefully eat out of my hand and approach me , I can get quite close .

Thank you , I am letting them do they’r own thing at the moment, and just sitting quietly near them for a couple of minutes at a time .

I’m a bit of a sucker for rescuing things, I have rescued a dog two cats , 8 weeks ago I rescued and hand fed a dove and now the chickens
