Her urge to leave renewed, she snorted angrily and stormed off, tail lashing. She could never truly settle into a herd until she was the favorite once again.

Dour, still groggy from his overindulgence of bad apples, returned to his herd slowly. He stopped when the mares came into view and tried to get a headcount. He thought he saw a strange mare, but in his current state of mind, he wasn't trusting his eyes.
