Onyx's ears pricked forward. "Is it in the valley?"

"Yes, and there is a nice bit of river running through it, too..." Feather nickered.

Gyspy lunged at Xander. "Get lost!" She snapped. Sierra looked at Xander, and didn't move. Kaliska struck out at the colt with a back hoof.

Clarisse jumped and gave a squeak of surprise at the angry sound. "Mama!" she wailed. Marcy took a breath of air. "Other horses won't bother us, sweetie, unless they are stallions," she said. "All the same, we should probably get going..."

In the distance was a shrill whinny, a mare frantically crying out for Xander, her hooves pumping against the soil. Xander whinnied in response, wincing in pain as he struck outwards with the leg he was having chewed.

Sierra stretched her neck, her eyes wide. She turned to Gypsy, who had a faint smile on her lips.

Stalker released Xander.It was time to show mercy."Get up and go!" Stalker whinnied as he reared.
