"gambling" with fate to defend my eggs' life (he/she make it!!!!)

@ frenchblackcopper : i didn't against anyone, i just "afraid" to make people spend their money for sending me goods, i've asked a friend that have experience sending goods abroad, he said that he once ever got a box (he don't remember the dimension) but the weight is about 3 kg (he can't remember exactly the weight cause it's been 1 year ago) (i don't know if you are using kg or lbs, i never use lb), from his friend in USA using USPS(maybe), it was cost US$ 20, i don't know how it will cost you to send incubator, maybe it will according to its weight, but i think it will be around that, in indonesia, US$3 can by a cheap wheeled mouse when US$7 can buy standard optical mouse. so, US$ 20 can be use to buy 3 standard optical mouse, i don't know about in USA, i only use that price as comparison. what about that? will the cost become a burden for you? if that's not then it's not a problem for you to send it, and i will be glad to receive a valuable gift as it was garbage for you in USA. but, if that's a burden then i feel sorry that i don't want to make you got burdened so you know what i mean. i hope i can help you the shipping cost but i don't even have a credit card or debit card. thank you for your help, i do appreciate that all.

@ imcuriositycat : yes, i still on this, yap, every time i shocked when i see the temp crossing 38,3 deg i open the bator and let the heat come out then i close it again, keep eye on it for 5 minutes to ensure the temp don't fluctuate too much (since i have no thermostat). then left it. ew, i just candled it yesterday, the result is, from 8 eggs laid in bator, only 3 showed the vein, 5 is clear and only showing its yolk or in the other word, i and the eggs failed, or maybe the roost, just an hour ago i "break" an egg that laid 2 days ago by my hen for "fertility test", the result is infertile, so , i will try to buy new rooster, oh y, i need to inform, domestic chicken here is worth US$ 2,7/kg . the point is, all chicken eggs won't be able to hatch before i buy a new rooster and get my current roost pension. oh, i've read post in the link, it help me to get take my worry away though i still "afraid" my eggs won't gonna make it.

sad.png

@ pbjmaker : thank you for wishing me to be success. yes, i think people can learn and share together. i'm feeling that i'm the luckiest man since there are people "volunteered" to reply to my long question. i can do nothing than said thank you for those who has been spent their time to help me and advising me in order to keep my eggs "alive".

Mulia, you are awesome. Your posts are great. And before you feel foolish about your word choice, please ask yourself whether any of *us* speak Indonesian (heck, I'm not even sure what language you do speak there--how's that for foolish??). I would wager that of those living in the U.S. and also posting on this board, not even ONE of us speak your language. So if you sometimes makes mistakes in English, you are still better in our language than we are in yours!

@ imcuriousitycat : wew, i feel being "praised"
big_smile.png
(hope the right word). yap, of course you didn't need to learn indonesian, why? cause almost ( it think) 90% web page on internet made in english, even another language site providing special page for english, even in my country, we've learn english since we are in elementary school, even public service in indonesia even around the world provide english language help/description, even when you buy china's goods, you can see not only chinese "word" means made in china but also big "stamp" made in china, can't you? am i true? then there's nothing to worried for people using english. oh, 1 more information, in indonesia, there are 3 grade of school, elementary school (6 years), junior high school (3 years), senior high school(3 years) then in order to pass senior high school and proceed to "university or faculty or campus" you have to pass national exam (exam that all question made by central government) national exam consist of 3 subject (now 6 or 7 subject i heard) that is english, math and indonesian, if you didn't pass the test then you will sit one more year or more till you can pass it. but, honestly, i'm going to tell you that there are only unlucky that didn't pass the test since there are many much so many ch... ( you know what i mean, don't tell the word please). i'm not going to be (i don't know the english, "being sacred") i do it in math only, cause honestly my math bad but i'm taking information technology subject now that include physics and math, maybe i took wrong subject
big_smile.png
.
now, from all i tell you above you know that english is so important for people abroad (actually outside USA,canada, australia and great britain).
big_smile.png
anyway, thanks for the "praise"
big_smile.png
oh my, what's the real word is?

Sorry to hear your rooster is not doing his job correctly with the hens. Especially since he's been so mean! Maybe you can trade him in on a new roo?

So the chicken eggs failed because of the rooster, and not the incubator! I think that's good news, actually. It's a fixable problem.

Another idea about the duck eggs: I've read that they should be misted with water every now and then while incubating. So maybe when the temp spikes, it would be a good time to mist them a bit?
I don't have ducks, so you may want to check my information on incubating them.

Am I reading correctly, that you are studying information technology right now?

anyway, thanks for the "praise" oh my, what's the real word is?

I think you are looking for the word "compliment" but praise works also.

English is a complicated language with lots of words that mean similar, but not quite the same thing. You do a great job writing in English and I think we on BYC have had no problems understanding what you are trying to say

yes, maybe he just got low stamina since he has been picked by my cruel roost till almost all of his feather lost, what a poor roost he is. when you see his body, you will feel like have a "raw" chicken then all you need to do is "laying" him across a plate full of seasoning and throw it away into a pan full of boiling oil (this is real, he looks very terrible without feather, imagine in this tropical country surrounded by mosquito and there's a roost have only 20% feather
roll.png
)

hmm, i don't think that's all the roost's fault, since my bator temp fluctuate too much and with those CO2 "supply" everyday, i think that those also affecting the eggs, don't you? and 2 duck eggs also failed to develop. arghhhh, hope those 3 eggs make it.
jumpy.gif

really? so how high humidity provided for them? since only my duck eggs start to develop i think i can ignore the chicken eggs and take more caution with my duck eggs. no problem you owned it or not, i own it but i ha** it cause make my yard looks like a mud pond now.

yes, is that wrong "word" i'm using with? maybe you tell it informatics technology or what's the right one.

thank you so much for the advice.

edit: censoring word and thank you sentences.

thank you for that correction, i just "afraid" to make wrong word taking since it could be offense for someone, couldn't it? yap, very complicated, easiest 1 is : hot. what's hot? hot in temp or hot cause eating much chili (ups, hope chili word isn't wrong). that's why sometimes it's danger to speak in english (for me) cause it could be hard time to think which word to use.
big_smile.png
glad to hear that you (maybe all) didn't have problem understanding what's i'm trying to say.

, my hen get broody, she has only laid about 7 eggs and want to sitting now? i don't think so, after laid an egg today i see her keep sitting and didn't want to move or stand for hours then i make a simple test, just get closer and then she "raised" her feathers then i know she went broody. what a joke, i'm going to ask her don't you realize that you have never being " in fun" with my roost then how can you think about sitting? even you only laid 7 eggs so far (all infertile). after hours she went out to eat then i took the egg that she just laid and just about 5 minutes later she came and sat on ground soil without egg.
roll.png
she even didn't realize that there are no egg left anymore. can someone give me advice on how do i should do? she has no fertile eggs. i can't risk to buy fertile eggs cause she always want to lay (in this case sit) on those wet and dirty soil ground since my coop haven't done yet and she never want to change her place in laying (in this case sit). should i just leave it like that? if i do then she is not going to lay me egg anymore for weeks. or should i do anything to make her broody's behavior lost and she start to laying anymore? what should i do in order to get those purpose? she is the only productive hen i have since 2 other haven't even lay an egg.
my coop is reaching almost 90% in progress but i haven't paint or even buy "hardware cloth or wire(which one is true?)".

thank you for advising and "enlightening" me.
