Since yours are lying on their sides, just make sure they are lying in their natural position each time you turn them--they should naturally lie with the small end a little bit lower than the large end.

Looks like you're right, SallyF--I thought I remembered from his pictures that they were on their sides, but I looked again (they're on page 4), and it looks like most of them are upright in an egg carton--though two appear to be on their sides. Sorry!

@ imruriositycat, sallyf & wegotchickens : now I make 3 chicken egg to "sleeping position" means that the eggs is laying like exactly when they were laid by hen and I make 5 duck eggs in "standing position" cause they are bigger and didn't have enough space in my bator so I make them "standing" cause I still have to reserve some space for air circulating and kerosene lamp. what do you advice me to do? i'm now turn the chicken eggs 180 deg 3 times a day and the duck egg, I turn it 3 times a day also, but with big and small end changing position every time I turned it. i hope to have more advice as my reference and thank you for advising me... I'd like to hear more...

I'll be update photos tonight (oh,maybe it's now night in your country,but it's 8:42 AM morning in my country) to let you all see better and clearer what exactly media I use to put my egg and the eggs position now. so then you all can help me better.

A "jar" or a "bottle", either one can have a lid so the humidity doesn't go up. A "jar" is often shorter and bigger around, and might hold heat better that a tall, skinny "bottle". @ dancingbear : yup, you can see it now on page 4 of this thread cause i've the picture posted. ups, sorry, since english is not my mother language so I often gets wrong grammar or meaning. the sure thing i should say is thank you anymore for giving explanation on jar and bottle.

Keept the small end down in the carton for the duck eggs and just tilt them around some. Like the V, tilt them to one side, then later tilt the other side of the V. Does that make sense?

@ wegotchicken : yes, I read it, i understand, so the "standing position" do not need to be turn end side, just "swing" the position. then, what about the chicken? just left it like I'm doin now? turning it 180 deg.

SAME with chicken eggs. tilt back and forth a few times every 24 hours (usually an "odd" number of times 5 or 7, at least 3 times).
