When a few of mine got it I gave them sulment, some antiabiotics and hoped for the best...

Due To The Nature Of The Animals And The Mycoplasma Agents Themselves Treatment Rx'd Is Usually A Combination Chemotherapy... Baytril + Lincomycin, Tylan, Etc... Usually None Of The Easy To Get Or Cheap Stuff... The Mycoplasma Infection Simply Has To Run Its Course Dispite The Drugs... The Most Common Cause Of Death In These Cases Is Secondary Bacterial Infection--- Thats Where The Antibiotics Come Into Play. Even If The Animal Survives It Sero-converts And Becomes A Carrier For The Mycoplasma Agent --- Making It A Source Of Further Infection To Any Other Gamebirds= Thereby Useless And Dangerous To Have Around. Prevention Is Much Better Than Cure In These Cases. Simple Biologic Isolation Readily Prevents Transfer/ Infection

What does suck is that once a bird has coryza or mycoplasma, it carries it...so it doesn't make a good stock anymore... Birds can get simple head colds too.

Yes, but the major inflamation is a dead give away that the bird has coryza. Especially if there are chickens around.

OH FORGOT... MANY SAY THAT CORYZA/ MYCOPLASMA/ WHAT EVER YOU WISH TO CALL IT, HAS A DISTINCTIVE ODOR THAT CAN BE SMELLED BY THE HANDLER... I DID NOT NOTICED ANYTHING BUT MANY DO

Yes, some people just have to learn the hard way. The best way to treat something is sulment and tylan. There are so many poultry diseases now you can't keep up with it all.
