I have quail, pheasants, chickens, and once had a turkey and a duck. I just keep them separated and use hand sanatizer between species. JJ has sermas and game birds too...
 
So it's ok to have them on the same property as long as they are not in the same pens. I just need to be careful of keeping everything clean and seperate.
 
I have pictures of the quail pens, but you can't see the chicken pens from there. Here is a quail pen and the chicken pen is about 25 yards n the other direction. The quail are next to the road and the chickens are about 1/5 of the way to the neighbor's yard. Then it drops off to a little bit of woods where the chickens free range, I don't let them near the quail.

Oh yeah and there are more pens outside of the fence and some behind the chicken pens. The chicken pens are diagnolly across from the quail. The yard is fenced, but there are more pens behind that fence... Sorry if this confuses you.
