I have been raising chickens and goat about a year and a half now. And i learn something new every day. In the middle of last winter i learned that head lamps are game changer #1! In barns without electric i was balancing and wedging lights in things in the dark morning air. In comes the head lamp to save the day. Wow!

then at Christmas last year my hubby bought me mucks boots. Hallelujah what a dream for the feet. But living on a lot that lives underwater all spring they still feel damp. So i decide to try a boot dryer. Who knew such a thing was so necessary!! It keeps my boots dry and slightly warm which keeps away the stink and allows my feet to feel peaceful and happy while i do my chores in the dark. Or shale i say by the head lamp light...

anybody else have game changers that they can’t live without?!?

Love muck boots, I have a pair for hunting... head lamps are also are great when tracking deer. (Yep I am a female and I hunt.). A big game changer for me is the hand warmer I just bought
, it uses lighter fluid and it’s a no flame hand warmer. It’s so much better than the hand warmers that only last so long. (Although I will still use them for my feet.

Do you use boot dryers? They are amaaaaaazing!!

Game Changer for me: Move to the South and stop worrying about winter/cold anything. :)

I think aside from that, learning how to properly clip wings of the hens that decided it was better outside the fence than inside has helped me keep my flock in tact for many years.
