Game fowl not laying

my brown game fowl has not started to lay any eggs yet and she is older than the other pallets who have been laying for weeks. She crouches down for me and my rooster but no eggs. She also has a very bright red large comb. I don’t free range my chickens unsupervised but sometimes she sneaks away from the flock and tiptoes into a bush. I checked for eggs in there.

She may not begin to lay until closer to spring - probably February. Egg laying is dependent on hormones, daylight and breed as well.

I have to wait until spring or late winter for my d'Anvers pullets to lay. And they are born in March. They really only lay like 100 eggs a year.

Her comb is much brighter now and the rooster does mate with her. I guess time will tell. Thank you for responding

Yeah she doesn't look ready. Her comb should turn red, and her body should get wider.

Oh. Then she probably will soon. About a week after my Buttercup bantam got her comb and white earlobes, and her body widened, she started laying eggs.

I have 30+ game pullets / hens of at least similar age. None are in lay. Most will come into lay by end of January.
