I don't suppose anyone knows how to identify the sex and age of red legged partridge... and any other gamebirds. Such as grouse,ptarmigan, coot, golden plover, woodcock, common snipe. Thanks in advance

No way to tell how old,you have to believe what the seller tells you.You can sex all over time,at least 6 months old you should be able to tell.

Don't know about the other birds mentioned but with red leggs, they can be sexed by the spur of the male bird. It appears as a small bump on the back side of the leg. As to age, you either take the breeders word or hatched them yourself to know their age.
 
Most of the time the males will be generally larger than the females and will have a blockier apearance
