I feel your pain. Neighbor's dogs broke the latch on my winter community pen early Februrary. After they decimated the birds in the run they went in through the pop door and wiped out what was hiding inside. I lost 2/3 of everything I had in one afternoon, had to cull quite a few more, and lost more that I thought were out of the woods. I can't imagine dealing with bears though.

It is what it is, first time with predator issues though in a few years

I feel your pain.  Neighbor's dogs broke the latch on my winter community pen early Februrary.  After they decimated the birds in the run they went in through the pop door and wiped out what was hiding inside.  I lost 2/3 of everything I had in one afternoon, had to cull quite a few more, and lost more that I thought were out of the woods.  I can't imagine dealing with bears though.

ripped the door off the coop ate 1/2 of them birds were too scared to go back and so lived in the barn, waited a couple weeks had to go on vacation put my littles out to make it easier, door ripped off again got them all, so only 3 survivors 2hens 1 roo but they are VERY friendly lol.


So now I am starting again

Wow, can't imagine what a bear could do with a chicken coop. Luckily, we've never seen any bear sign in our areas. All the other predators are bad enough, but a bear? Not even sure how I'd deal with that. Ugh
