WHITE ELEPHANT sounds like fun! However, I have some reservations. I've seen too many egg swaps and ornament swaps where some members never received their item. Therefor I'm adding a rule that if a participant does not ship their gift, they will be banned from participating in this group again, either as host or player. No second chances.
For that matter, any host that doesn't ship or refund will be permanently banned. Any host that cannot ship but does refund will be put on probation.
I still owe two people due to my Isabel Leghorn rooster sleeping on the job. I discovered there might be a problem when I candled my own eggs a few days after shipping. One player opted to wait until Spring to fulfil. That player's shipping fee was refunded. I have not refunded the other player. I am hoping to reship to the other player in about a week. I can't ship soon I'll refund that player as well.
The best way to flush out hiccups in a game is to try it once. All players will be required to send tracking information to @meltel
when they ship. Ideally everyone will ship and nothing will get lost in the mail. @meltel
are you willing to keep a worksheet of who is sending what item to which player and adding tracking numbers as they are shipped?
Since this game would be an equal swapping where every player gets something, I don't see why everyone couldn't play. Anyone think of any issues letting everyone play? Of course this type of game would not decrease the time-out period for other games.
