I need the geese experts!! This morning my 30lb toulouse gander, Cricket, has disappearedšŸ˜” No blood, no feathers, no nothing. He was bonded with my chickens and never went out of their sight. He was mating my Roman tufted female earlier this week so we thought maybe she had laid an egg and he was sitting on it? But we've searched our property and he's just not here. Could he have flown away with migrating geese? I only ever saw him fly a few feet off the ground. No one around us has geese or waterfowl close by.

Please help!!! All my chickens act fine so I really don't think it was a predator attack. The last time I seen him was at 4:30 yesterday evening. They all free range together on several acres with a mobile coop for shelter at night. We have a creek that is full during wet weather. Could he have swam down the creek and got lost??

Toulouse are too heavy too fly off with wild geese, so I don't think that's what happened to him. Unfortunately a predator is probably most likely. ā˜¹ļø
I've never heard of ganders sitting on eggs, either.

We've searched and search and no remainsšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø but we'll look until we find him or what's left of himšŸ˜”

I see you have poultry netting in the back. I have had geese clear that before, so it's possible he flew over that and is wandering somewhere.

Yea, we actually have started letting them free range the past month or so. So it's very possibly he followed our creek and went exploring.

Have you consider it being a 2 legged predator?
No, they would have had to drive through our carport, our fenced back yard, past our very territorial great pyrenees and German shepard to the back of our 7 acres. Thanks for the suggestion though!
