I've got a gander and goose which I would assume are bonded together dispite them not raising a brood together or not even seen them mate. I decided to get another younger goose ,just incase his current one is to old to do anything with brooding wise. He has accepted her but will he eventually mate with her despite the other goose being around to? Thanks

He will if he wants too. My little rooster is terrified of most girls, but had a major obsession over 2 or three of them

Geese will form cliques of between 3 to 6 individuals but 3 or 4 are more common from what I’ve seen, in a large flock you’ll see a couple of these groups together. During breeding season a gander will breed with all of the girls within his “clique,” he might have a favorite that he gets along with best but hormonal geese will breed with anyone who’s willing.
