Sounds like you are doing everything OK except I would stop feeding corn as it can make geese too fat.
I have a little experience with Embdens since one year I raised some for the freezer and found them to be VERY aggressive
toward my Sebastopol Geese and Muscovy Ducks. I was glad to see them go to the processor and harmony return to my flock.
As far as the aggression certainly it can vary but from the sounds of it the strain you got is extra aggressive and flighty since
typically you shouldn't have geese hiding under the shed and so many mean ganders.
You might want to consider getting the generally milder mannered Americans and Holderread has some real nice ones.
The poor success rate with your eggs can be so hard to pin point because there are so many variables.
I would just try again next year and see what happens. We all have our sucky years. Best wishes with next year.
