Gangrene? Frostbite? Need advice....

I am so sorry, :hugsif your sure there isn't any hope for him to recover this to me is the best way to euthanize. I have used it a few times and even though it still wasn't an easy thing to do. For me it was so much better than chopping of their head and I couldn't do that anyway.

The choice is yours. Believe it or not I’ve see worse. Chickens have a built in defense mechanism to hide injuries and illnesses. By the time the show problems they’ve really got problems. There are treatments you could try. You’d need to fashion him a sling and it would take daily dedication on your end. Again sorry for your situation.

We sadly put him down. I think what started as frostbite turned into an infection that I caught too late. I was doing everything I could including giving him daily antibiotic shots. But I think I was fighting a losing battle. I will miss him for sure, he was my boy. I'll never name or get attached to another bird again. I said that before and clyde was definitely the exception. He was special..... thank you for all the responses
