Gapeworm??

Noticed our 4 1/2 year old RSL seemed to be ‘barking’ occasionally this morning. She was lively and eating and looking well. I have heard of Gapeworm, so mixed Flubenvet with the pellets, just in case. When I’ve gone to put them to bed, she is gasping and wheezing and extending her neck. Is this Gapeworm? What do I do if she won’t eat? I’ve videoed her, can I upload it on here? Thanks.

It would be best to take a fecal sample from her to a vet and have them look at it under a microscope for gapeworm eggs.
It would differentiate if she had gapeworms or a respiratory disease.

She may have something lodged in her mouth, throat as well. Have you looked for any obstruction?

We did look, but couldn’t see anything.

I’ll ring my vet in the morning. See if that’s something they can do.

When was the last time you saw her eat or drink?
I would be looking at getting some liquid into her.

We syringed her some water this evening.
