It is warm and beautiful out today and yesterday. We are due for a bit of rain sometime tomorrow or the next day. The weather has been confusing the meteorologists I think because it does not always match what they say it will be like. We will have a couple of warm to hot days with humidity 80% and then it will be cold and almost freezing at night for a few days. It will even out soon to just plain hot and humid. Most of Texas doesn't have much of a winter or spring really. In East Texas it seems we go from Summer to Autumn, a few weeks of winter, a few weeks of spring, and back to summer. Kind of like that sketch on Monty Python's Holy Grail with the changes of the seasons.Last year was the opposite, just dry, sources were almost empty. So, we hope this weekend will be a bit warmer and drier as the weather report let us believe.
I'm planning tomatoes, pumpkins, cucumbers, herbs like koriander and persil etc, beans (runner and french), cabbage all sorts, potatoes, lettuce, carrots, beetroots, paksoy etc, fruit: strawberries, redcurrants, cherries, apples, plums etc and lots of flowers of course. Tomatoes and pumpkins are already planted up in pots. My lettuce is still safe, I sowed the first in February under plastic, in the snow, but its doing fine. Fingers crossed.
And you? I don't know what kind of climate you're having or what kind of ground. The neighbours do grow peaches, but not very succesfull the last 5 years.
