Garden Tillers

I'm not absolutely sure...but I believe that "Home Depot" carries the MTD tillers.

They shouldn't be hard to find.

Look up "MTD Yard Machines" on the Internet. You should be able to find a dealer near you.

GOOD LUCK !

I have an older Troy Built. I had a few problems with the techumseh engine's carborator getting fouled - had to have it replaced several times. Now I am very careful 1. never to let gas set in it and 2. never ever lend it out. ever. Two years ago I had the shop replace the carb (again) and even with my bad back and worse shoulder, a gentle pull or two and it's going. For new ground, plowing or double-digging by hand only once, then till for my georgia clay. I think I love this tiller now.

I did a brief google on MTD, but where are they built? Troy built were from Troy, Indiana.

okiehen,
Your Cub tiller looks very much like my MTD tiller...except my MTD is RED with a 5 Hp Briggs and Stratton engine.

The price is a bit more...but that may be the "Inflation" that the Gub-Mint says we don't have.

My MTD was $600 NEW about 8-9 years ago.

The Honda engines are supposedly VERY GOOD....the "ad" doesn't list the Horspower but merely lists the displacement. It may be a more powerful engine than mine. However, the 5 Hp B&S had shown No Problems with Power.

Your Cub looks like a Very Good Tiller !!!

Thanks to everyone for their input. We ended up going a little different direction and bought a Craftsman.

We took everyone's recomendations into account and this one seemed to offer the most for the price. It has large wheels, a reverse gear, a wide path, etc. Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to reply.

We pick it up this weekend. Hopefully the ground will dry enough between now and then that we can try it out and get some peas, lettuce and onions planted.

It LOOKS like you made a good choice!

Since Sears doesn't make any of its products, you've probably got a tiller made by the same folks that make MTD and Troy-Bilt...plus you've got the Sears, Craftsman WARRANTY to back you up. That's GOOD!!!

Have Fun !!!

We got it for less than the online price, at the store it was $799. I'm not sure of the horsepower I'll have to look and see if its on it.
We looked them all over and decided to go with the cub. I like that its made in the USA.
Happy gardening folks.
