I started my compost, have major spring fever!!!
Ordered my strawberry plants, veggie seeds, lilac bushes, peet pots and pellets...

what are you going to grow this year? Have you started yet? Any tips/words of wisdom?

I planted my garden three weeks ago and I really enjoy watching the little rows of green coming up through the earth.

But it also means I have to go weed it now.... they are coming up also.

I bought seeds and pots to start tomatoes indoors this week. It's to save my sanity, because it's been a cold wet soggy nasty winter. It's snowing/raining/sleeting right now. I may get my hands dirty tomorrow just to get this crappy weather off my mind! I can't wait to see sprouts!

Cindyloohoo: What kind of Tomatoes are you growing?
Last year I fried my seedlings, didn't harden them first just planted them... learned my lesson there. But this year trying cherry, heirloom blend and some beefsteak type from seeds. I think it will be so rewarding to have them from seeds all the way to harvest

im starting my garden in august its the best time around here im doing eggplant tomatoes lettuce corn again i love watching that grow bell peppers jalapenos chili peppers thats basically it

I'm starting my pepper, eggplant and tomato seeds indoors. I got bunnies in November and starting a nice bunny compost pile. I am gonna have to get some compost worms soon, since I want to vermicompost. In my regular compost pile I'm adding my chicken manure now yeah!! I hope it is gonna be a good gardening year for everyone.

So neat I've been seeing lights on early in the morning in peoples' greenhouses and seeds for sale in the stores just this last week so we're getting closer.

Anyone ever order from Burgess before? I made my first order a while back and sitting on my hands, just can't wait to get the dirt under my nails to start the seeds!!!!
Going to try vine plants for the first time... since this is the first year we haven't lived in a silly rental

We have a hill below our driveway that the neighbors irrigation flows down and is shaded by a huge Elm tree, thought this would be a great place for the cantalope and watermelon, wouldn't have to water them with the irrigation runover and would have heat but not the dirrect sun on them due to the Elm.

I am so so excited about my garden this year. I am NOT sprouting indoors this year, last year I just couldn't get a good start with anything so we'll purchase started plants.
I am planning on building another raised bed within the next week or so and starting on working my dirt
