Oh yes, we certainly do have Fleet Farms! It's like our favorite place to shop in the spring for all sorts of flowers and veggies (any that we haven't grown from seed). They just opened one in a town that's only about 15 minutes from our house - woo hoo! :ya
You're lucky, we have to travel about 30 miles. We buy our feeds there. My chickens love the Sprout brand. We can never leave without spending too much. It is my favorite store too.

We used to travel a lot farther to get to one also, so we were thrilled when they opened the one closer to us last fall. Of course, we HAD to go check it out! Left with a few large bags of pine shavings and a bag of mealworms for the chickens (among other things). Fleet Farm has the best price on them that I have seen so far, and the chickens went into full feeding frenzy over them!

So pleased they are finally in the ground! Hubby kept telling me to wait until the guys finished the goat shed. I have been waiting since Oct. 17th! Seriously! So maddening.

So many wonderful pages to browse!

I stepped away for a week and this discussion just exploded. :p

I'm self-diagnosed as having arthritis in two fingers on my right hand. I've had carpal tunnel before, but this is different, and based on my history with my hands and fingers, I'm content declaring my poor fingers as arthritic.

Yesterday I used a heavy pair of scissors to cut a pattern in some cloth I used to wrap gifts. My fingers ached for hours. It's like having a migraine headache pulsing in my fingers. I'm going to research growing cayenne peppers for medicinal salves.

And since the pain causes me to compensate, I'm at risk for back pain, so maybe some taller garden beds are in order. I loved the photos of tall beds and cattle panels stretched over pathways for creeping cucumbers.

The only problem is deer netting. The deer around here think it's some kind of magical gateway and jump right through the netting!!

Have you tried my method of cutting large twiggy branches and weaving them into the fence? Then i string wire around and through and add strips of white fabric. Seems to work.
