Garlic

I've spent most of the day on BYC - fascinating, informative and very addicting! And, I've read several times that adding garlic to chicken water and feed is beneficial. My question: should it be whole, diced or pressed? I have a huge garlic patch and would love to share it with my girls if it will help them.

Mine prefer theirs minced. When adding it to water, I use whole so it doesnt clog the water nipples I use.
