Gasping chicken

Have a 14 wk old Dutch hen that is gasping for air. Gave her a 1cc syringe of water no problem. She began preening and acting normal, but is still gasping. Palpated the neck and can find nothing out of the ordinary. Opened beak and checked throat, no obstuctions. Any Ideas? Barb

she probably aspirated. that is when a chicken somehow gets water up her nose and i get in her lungs causing her to gasp for breath
