I'm sure there is a post here that asks this question, but I can't seem to find it, I've recently hatched some eggs, out of the 6 chicks that I kept for myself, I've lost three, I noticed them kind of panting/gasping on day two, I had them drinking with ACV in their water, just a tiny bit in a gallon of water, I expected at least one as I'd had to assist. They were doing this gasping and were kind of unsteady on their feet. I've given them Poultry Cell, I'm not sure what to do..

They sound a bit hot or too humid? I had the same problem, I colded there area down, and gave them better ventilation, by putting a fan on low and opened a window. I noticed with in minutes, when they got cold they really started chirping.

Thank you, they are in the house, a/c set for about 75, I've turned off the heat lamp, so far so good, they are doing ok, the little one that I'm worried about is still alive, I've switched them from the Poultry Cell to Electrolytes. They got chick starter/grower, I've seen little one eating, last night he was pushing the others out of the way..lol. He was one of the last to hatch, one of the ones that hatched right when my Olive Oil hatched, he's the one that I had to assist because of shrink wrap. So we shall see. I know it's part of life, but it still breaks my heart.

I hope that they continue to get better for you! Yes, it's hard when you loose a chick especially after waiting for them to hatch for so long. My 4 are still doing well over here. I have to watch them though when I open the door to check on the food and water in there, because a couple of them have taken to jumping up on my arms.
