Hello.... I live in north central PA and the winters can get quite cold.... my hens (6 RI reds) are still producing about 4 eggs a day.... my question is this.... due to the cold weather, should any eggs I collect during these cold months go directly into the fridge since they have already been exposed to cold temperatures..? Vs. Keeping them on the counter, as I do in the normal "warm" months..... thanks for your time.

This time of year the only changes that I made was to collect the eggs more frequently to keep them from freezing. I don't think that any storage changes are necessary. Any eggs that freeze and crack should be used quickly.

Ok...thanks for the reply. Haven't had any cracked or frozen yet....been on the lookout though.....due to work schedules and the hens laying schedule...we usually gather our eggs around 330 4 o'clock each day.... so far so good! thank you!
