Good morning (or evening depending on where you are!) from sunny hot South Australia.

My name is Cate and I have been running a Dorper sheep stud for over 10 years with my OH and ably assisted by our almost 9 year old twins.

Recently I got hooked on the world of chickens and am currently trying to hatch our first batch of eggs, which now at day 23 with no sign of life looks like it failed.....

But if nothing else I am persistant and will set the next lot of eggs tonight if there is no movement from group #1....one thing farming teaches is patience!!

Looking forward to learning lots here (although I have been reading for a while now and have already learnt heaps) and making new chicken friends all over the world.

Thanks for reading! Cheers, Cate

Good day to you, so glad you joined us. Sorry about the hatch, good luck with the next one.

So glad you decided to join us.

Don't give up yet. 21 days is just an average. They can hatch 5 days later! Have you candled the eggs at all?

Well, good luck and I hope you get something to hatch. Welcome to our flock!

Howdy! I'd say its sunny but still chilly this morning in SA. But I do love hot weather ;-)

My first batch of eggs didn't work either. Very disheartening but my frieds is due on Wednesday so I get to snuggle hers very soon!

Welcome to BYC

G'day and welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. X2 on TwoCrow's advice. At least a few of them might still hatch. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chicken eggs are you incubating?

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about the failed hatch, good luck with the new one.

Are your sure the eggs you start with are fertile?? You may also want to discuss with others in your area, at "Australia, six states and one funny little Island."

Welcome to backyard chickens.
