Okay those of you reading my thread about Virgil the doctor about to make history with a surgery... After combing the globe looking for experts to perform this surger and months of postponing..I have word...yet again that surgery is to take place an hour from now.... There are the top teams in the country (two of them)... this is a landmark case.....it is so rare that it may be the only one of it's kind... Please pray for Virgil in the this hour... call your churches and pray for this man to have strength.. we are at 9 or 10 weeks since this all started..Please go back an read my thread as it contains the details of this fabulous philanthropist... just a snippet and bow your heads... I give thanks to all that have taken the time to read this.... It is appreciated...
UPDATE!!! December 8th 2010 He came through this sugery today very well.. I finally got to see him...He looked very good for what he has been through.... This is a step in the right direction. He has two teams taking very good care of him...I thank you all for slowing your lives for another... someone you don't know... It means a great deal about the character of the ppl on this forum... I am touched... To come home and find these posts... What a great end to a great day... He still has at least two surgeries left.... We are hopeful that he will sail through them like he did this one... They will take his oxygen tube out overnight tonight hopefully... Maybe he will get to eat... he must be tired of not getting to eat... 3 months without his wife cooking?? that's gotta be a tough one.
He is still in ICU and he is still with us... things are looking up.
I found this on the internet of him...He is breaking ground on a Habitat for Humanity house... for which he heads up the chapter in our area and works on all the houses.... Ya... he get around!!!
VIRGIL IS UP AND EATING... They have him up walking and eating...He likely won't be home for Christmas...but he is taking in real food for the first time in 3 months... Thanks guys!!!
