I live in the arizona desert and was wondering what i should do for my geese when they are old enough to go outside. We have water restrictions right now so not much fresh grass. our yard isnt completely fenced in so i dont want to free range them, but i dont think i want to put them in with my 7 chickens one of the roosters is slightly aggressive and i just dont think there would be enough room for them all. What should i do?

I just started a thread about my goose who kills chickens, so you are probably right to be concerned about not putting your geese in with your chickens. My guess would be to make them a coop and pen.

I have Toulouse geese. Guess they aren't. Although, it could just be that Harold is not good with chickens just like not all donkeys are good as guard animals. I have one of those too. Can I pick 'em or what? LOL

i have one white chinese and one unknown [ive been told it might be a cross between an embden and something else] both goslings and they r getting a bit big for the cage i have them in.

I have an old guinea pig cage for raising babies. I also have a child fence I can set up outside when they start getting bigger for them during the day. They only sleep in the cage at night. Until they're big enough to stay outside permanently. My only draw back with this arrangement is any chance they get the come back in the house. <sigh>

my grandpa is supposed to finish building a pen for them this week its arround 8ft x 10-11ft slightly bigger than what i have my seven chickens in.
