Hi Goose people!
I went into the city today (Boston/Cambridge, MA) to see the doctor. I used to work near there and scooted in to visit some of my favorite places. One of them is a flock of domestic geese on the Charles River, that I stumbled upon while kayaking a few years ago. There was some Canada geese hanging out there too. The domestic geese were put there about 30 years ago to guard a water treatment facility (Yeah weird I know)
No longer needed, they migrated down to the place they occupy by the BU (Boston University) bridge and a train bridge. There's an article here that explains their history here https://www.bu.edu/today/2007/the-goose-whisperer/
One was sitting on a nest, and there was one with one gosling, and one with about 4 goslings. I didn't get too close to those ones. but heres a few pictures. Next time I'll bring some food.
For reference here's a picture of the adjacent bridges.
