Geese question

How can u tell how old Canada geese are?

I have no idea we have a pair that nest in our river every year and have done it for at least 12yrs and I can't tell by looking at them that they are 12 yrs old or older. Of course I can't get close to them either.

I have an 11 yr old Embden gander and he doesn't look old to me.
