geese questions

Ah, I had a goose who we raised from an egg. He was an only goose after a while, and took to our labs, even the one who tried to chew his neck off as a pup. He took a dislike to some people. One was my daughters horse trainer and he would go out and bite her legs (maybe it was her black boots), when she would come over, She'd call and ask of the goose was out. He also didnt' like my youngest son. He would lie under the deck, till Wesley came down the stairs and try to bite and chase him. Wesley was not mean to him, finally we let Wesley carry a piece of plumbing pipe if he had to go outside when the goose was out. Couldn't hit him, but he could put it between him and Max.
It was rather funny to see the goose hiding under the deck ready to pounce on him.

And Max was a pilgrim/Tufted Roman cross. He was very friendly most of the time.
And the geese did let us know about any "transgressors human and animal." We used to call them the "goose alarm" -- they saved our chickens a couple times when we had posssum and raccoon visitors.
Kids would say " the goose alarm is going off"!
