Hi all!

I have two female Embden goslings. They are about two months old. Today they started spewing this watery fluid out through their mouths. They are perfectly healthy, have access to clean drinking water, grass, poultry crumble feed, and water to swim in all day. Should I be concerned? They only "throw up" when I try to pick them up, or they are distressed. What could be the cause?

I have had chickens for many years, but am new to geese. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

While I'm not sure what is causing your goodies to do that, one thing I have noticed about my two young geese is that they put everything in their mouths, just like little kids. Is possible that they picked up the wrong thing? This is my first year with geese too, maybe it's normal behavior.....

I do a lot of wildlife photography and Canadian Geese seem to be my favorite critters to photograph. Sometimes, I will even feed them to get a better a photo of them. However, they do become destressed when they see the camera readying to take their picture. The ones that do get destressed appear to be the Alpha males cause they start flapping their wings, honking ever so loudly, and discharging a fountain of clear fluid from their mouths...especially when their youngsters are present. Although I have never been attacked by any geese, I have come to believe that it is their defense mechanism or a warning.
