Ok we have six Toulouse Geese one I know is a gander based off of vent sexing the others are tricker I did vent sex them and got nothing so either I got five females a nd one male or I have some sneaky boys. Anyways I post pictures y'all tell me what you think. The issues we are having is they tend to gang up on a chicken (could be any one hen out of 25) that they nearly killed I run out there in time to stop the madness they have well over 20,000sft yard for everyone (5ducks, 25chickens, 6geese, 3turkeys, three goats) they all have separate houses and yards then I let them out to free range together. I am getting annoyed by these geese attacking my hens.they gave killed meat birds that don't get away fast enough at least five they are responsible for that I know of. My husband says if we get the number of geese down to three the agreesion should be cut back. That they will be nicer since they won't have such a large group thoughts?

I don't think numbers have anything to do with it. I know someone with a single gander and his 2 goslings that were chicken killers. They were part of an agriculture educational program. After #4 they got sent to the principals office.

I had 4 geese before 2 original and 2 goslings when it was just the 2 geese they lived pretty mellow around all the chickens and ducks but once the goslings matured the 4 would gang up on chickens and ducks surround them and work them over It wasn't going to be long before they killed someone so I had to make the decision to rehome the 2 young ones. Now that it is just the 2 again they aren't ganging up and only get irritated if someone gets in their space and usually that just means lowering head to make them move. Our gander and Muscovy drake are the only 2 that cause trouble now, And that is with each other. :hmm

Ok so its most likely the large number then I I have let only the gander and two which I assume are the girls he likes most(one never leaves his side which is the only one with out dewlaps on her belly and the other I seen him rub necks with I havent really seen him do it to others) and those three don't get aggressive they mind their own business and hang with the ducks.

Okay here are some pictures I am sorry they aren't that good. IMG_20180129_131115.jpg i believe this one in the very back is a girl she the one I saw rubbing necks with the gander she has a white marking on her chin between here and the gander are the only two I can tell apart lol. So it might just be wishful thinking

It maybe the number I just know for here it wasn't working and I didn't have the money to have separate places for everyone. Although I did have to keep 4 Muscovy drakes separated but finally came to my senses and rehomed 2 . I want to flock that gets along peacefully as possible. This is what is working for me.

MY gander most always has his head up just like the 2 of yours in the one photo by the tank. He walks that way a lot too. He is more vocal also high pitched where my goose has a low pitched voice. He mostly follows his mate around doting over her.

Yeah I have a separate pen for them I just prefer they would all be out together foraging lol plus my two year old son loves herding them lol he their boss its funny the gander hisses at me but run from my two year old lol. I have to separate them again to listen to each lol last time I had two high pitch and the rest low. My gander stands the tallest all the time I wouldn't be surprised if I have multiple ganders. I seriously going crazy waiting for them to make nest so I know who is with who lol.

More geese photos my husband been getting home to late to take pictures
