Gender and breed of this duck??

Does anyone know the breed and or gender of this duck. My mom just adopted a new duck and we have no idea what breed or gender it is. TIA

Looks like a male based on color and probably a cross breed.

Definitely male... eclipse is a molt that adults go through, the females color is muted more and the males color mutes down to almost the same as a females color...

Still has a green head right now, so definitely male...
