ackie
previously jwehl // dogs & cats & squirrels oh my!
I have a mix of 3-month-old Whiting True Blue (WTB) and Whiting True Green (WTG) and 1 Mystery Chicken from McMurray. Mystery chick appears to be a Buff Cochin - fluffy feet, single comb, no extra toes. I also have 3 mystery female chickens from the feed store - they weren't meant to be mystery but my SO forgot their breeds. Of these 20 chickens, I *should* have only up to 2 roosters- one WTB and probably the Cochin. Since Whiting isnt a standard breed at all, I'm not entirely sure if my instincts are correct on sexing. The WTB are a line derived from Amerucananas (yep, that's how many ananas it needs, definitely) and a production white egg layer. The WTG is just for fun and doesnt even breed true, but it's a WTB crossed with a production brown layer, as far as I can tell. Ones supposed to have pea, the other single, but looking around me, I'm not especially confident on that (or I got the wrong birds). I digress.
My best bet as a rooster is
second guess, or second rooster that I wasnt supposed to get:
and then curious on the breeds & sexes of these:
there are 2 of these
and one of these
oh yeah wanted to figure out the sex of the cochin too
happy to take more pics
